Description: The creation of the project development of the 3D virtual articulations with the CAD / CAM and Rapid Prototyping technology benefits from the experience of the human resources of the following: “Politehnica” University of Timisoara, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Technology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara, Department of Orthopaedics. The research team members work in the field of it, medicine - orthopaedics, design and implementation of new moulding technologies and industrial design. Within this framework, one of the most important factors of competitiveness is represented by the answering time of solving various demands in medicine, market demands and the implementation of new products. The development of rapid prototyping technology supports the transdisciplinary collaboration of highly trained expert teams. The collective of UPT and UMFT aims at expanding research in adjacent fields in order to solve complex problems of concern for various fields. These technologies and devices of rapid prototyping are specialized for different fields, such as medicine, industry, function of the field they apply to, starting from the facilities provided for the medical field and dealing with new products delivered by the industrial partners. The project aims at providing valid solutions in education and science, by promoting new technologies and it know how, typical for rapid prototyping.
