Description: DidaTec, a word which associates the “didactic” process with “technology”, started as an initiative of the main technical universities in Romania for the effective implementation of modern educational instruments and blendedlearning technologies in the teaching-learning activity. The project's mission is to create the necessary framework for the adaptation of the current higher education environment in the field of engineering and technical sciences to a world and a way of living that follows the digital revolution. The vision in mind is that of a true, active and engaging experience for the university student, based on her/his gadgetfilled life in which science and engineering blend in, having the teacher as a companion. With the opportunity and support of the European Union's structural funds scheme, the initiative revolves around the “DidaTec – Lifelong learning and training for higher education teachers in the technical sciences and engineering fields” project POSDRU/87/1.3/S/60891, co-financed by the partner universities and by the European Social Fund through the Sectoral Operational Programme for Human Resources 2007-2013. The project, implemented over a period of 36 months (September 1, 2010 – August 31, 2013) benefits from an overall budget of approx. Euro 4.5 million.
