The dynamic flow of blood in arteries is laminar with recirculation in an area with adjacent vessel
branches of irregular geometries. But under specific conditions, this flow can be influenced by factors that
bring about structural modifications in blood vessel geometries. These structural modifications can occur in
the presence of an abdominal aortic aneurysm - AAA. The AAA represents a flaccid zone with a “swelling”
bump in the aorta wall. In fact, an AAA is a gradual dilation of the aorta that occurs over a period of 10 years
usually between the renal arteries and the iliac bifurcation. As the aorta swells, its walls weaken and it may
eventually burst or rupture. Sudden ruptures often end in death. The main goal of this paper is the
computational analysis of an AAA model using a real patient aneurysm computer tomography – CT scan.
From the computational point of view a simplified finite – element grid on our reconstruct model geometry
was design in the first step, the second step was a study of the most affected regions, of quality wall shear
stress distribution, velocity magnitude field, quantify wall pressure field, of the AAA model, and flow
characterization of hemodynamic field using spatial particle distribution, respectively.
