Title: A new test rig for analysis and control of swirling flow in conical diffusers

Description: The paper deals with designing of a test rig in order to investigate swirling flows by experimental methods. These investigations will be focuses on the vortex generated in Francis turbines’ draft tube. There are presented aspects of hydraulic and mechanical necessary calculus. Also, there are presented the main drawings of the test facility. An experimental methodology is included.
