Abstract:
Fabrication techniques of high quality, Al – based composites, reinforced with ceramic particle, are mainly based on powder metallurgy. An optimization of a powder metallurgy route for production AlCuSiMg/SiC particle reinforced MMCs requires an analysis of possible influences of ceramic elements on the technological parameters. The investifgations are carried out by means of differential thermal analysis (DTA) and response surface methodology (RSM). Temperature and duration of sintering treatement, as well as fraction of reinforcement have been chosen as independent variables for the test, and hardness has been considered most suitable as response variable.
