Description: Abstract: There is currently a growing research interest in nanocomposite systems, which to a large extent can be explained by the ability to introduce significant changes in material properties with low contents of nanosized additives. This work presents some ongoing research on the subject of nanocomposite systems where the host material is a polymer matrix of a nature usually found in the composites industry, and the nanosized phase is a magnetic nanofluid (MNF). Ultimately, the work involves having the MNF as a nanophase integrated into typical fiber reinforced composite materials.
